In Deutschland spielte die Kriegsmarine über viele Jahrhunderte keine Rolle. Erst Kaiser Wilhelm II. Ließzum Schutz der Deutschen Kolonien und zur Abwehr gegen eine britische Seeblockade eine eigene Flotte bauen. Da sie der britischen MArine hoffnungslos untelegen war, favorisierte die kaiserliche. Admiralität den Einsatz von U-Booten, um mit relativ geringen Mitteln eine größtmögliche militärische Wirkung zu erziehen. Auch im Zweiten Weltkrieg spielten die deutschen U-Boote zunächst eine zentrale Rolle im Seekrieg, bis die alliierte Übermacht und neue Ortungssysteme aus den Jägern Gejagte machten. Von den 40,000 U-Boote Männern der deutschen Kriegsmarine kehrten 30,000 nucht wieder nach Hause zurück. Auf der Bonus -DVD befinden sich Datentafeln zu allen wichtigen deutschen U-Boot-Typen. Auf Feindfahrt im Atlantik ..Die Grauen Wölfe" die deutschen Unterseeboote während des 2. Weltkrieges, waren die einzige, dauerhaft wirkungsvolle Waffe des Deutschen Reiches auf den Weltmeeren. Nur sie waren in der LAge den Geleitverkehr der Gegner nachhaltig zu stören. Die Boote steuerten die ihnen zugewiesenen Operationsgebiete an, legten sich auf die lauer und hielten nach Geleitzügen und Einzelfahrern Ausschau. Kamen dann Positionsmeldungen. tauchten die Boote weg und begannen ihre Angriffe aus der Tiefe gegen Handels und Kriegsschiffe. Die "Schlacht im Atlantik" erreichte im Frühiahr 1943 ihren Höhepunkt. U-Boote, Geleitzüge und Geleitsicherungsfahrzeuge standen sich in erbitterten KAmpfTag und Nacht gegenüber. Rocket A4/V2 Firings, A4/V2 Field Maintenance, Field Trials, Transport, and Firings + Misfires Peenemünde Rare and unedited German V-2 rocket film reels from World War Two. These films were used by the engineers and scientists to study the performance of test missiles launched from locations such as Peenemünde, Heidelager, Heidekraut. Because most TV production companies will not show any footage with slight imperfections, many of these reels have never been shown or boardcast in past V2 documentaries on television. Interesting footage of misfires and crashes. B/W and color sequences. Includes scenes of Field Equipment Testing, Rocket Servicing, Rocket Transportation and Field Maintenance. Shown are : Field Tests from Prüfstand 10 in the summer of 1943, with vehicles such as the Meillerwagen, Feuerleitpanzer, Cable Trailer and others. Firings from Prüfstand VII in March-April 1943. Field Tests show vehicles - early preparing - fueling, Original film of German instructional movie about field Maintenance shot at Blizna, with many scenes showing special instruments.
